The park’s habitats and trails
Tampines Eco Green’s three trails take you through freshwater, marsh and forest habitats. Together they cover 3 km, and NParks estimates 1.5 to 2 hours to walk them.
The Diversity Trail is 1.2 km long. It passes a freshwater pond and reaches a viewing platform by a soft footpath carpeted with Manila Grass. Along the 0.8 km Marsh Trail, you can look across vegetated swales, which channel excess surface runoff and are dry during the dry season.
The 1 km Forest Trail runs among shady trees. The park also has three bird hides for observing birds; 75 bird species have been spotted here. Keep an eye out for snags, too: these standing dead trees are set away from footpaths and provide food and important nesting sites for birds such as woodpeckers.

Planning a walking route
Allow time for the three trails, then pause at the viewing platform or bird hides as you go. The route’s different habitats make it easy to break the walk into sections rather than treating it as a single uninterrupted circuit.
For a shorter outing, focus on one trail: the Marsh Trail is 0.8 km, while the Diversity Trail is 1.2 km and the Forest Trail is 1 km. If birdwatching is part of your plan, include time at the hides. Stay on the footpaths, including the soft path to the viewing platform.
Birdwatching, nature walks or tours, photography, contemplative landscapes and wellness are among the activities at the park. It opened in 2011.
How do you get to Tampines Eco Green?

You can approach the park from Tampines MRT station, by bus or through the Tampines Park Connector. NParks’ park guide map indicates a 20-minute walk from the MRT station to the route’s start point.
The map marks entrances at Block 495F and the west entrance, as well as a main entrance. It also shows a carpark at Block 408. Bus services 2N, 28, 29, 293 and 553 serve the park’s Tampines Avenue 9 access point. Use the map to match your arrival point with the entrance you intend to use.
The Tampines Park Connector is another nearby approach. For a separate outing in the area, Pasir Ris Park’s beach walks and trails offer a different park setting.

Facilities and visitor guidelines
The park has an eco-toilet that uses bacteria and wood to convert human waste into compost, without water or chemicals. NParks’ guide map marks its location along with the bird hides and viewing platform.
The dirt paths and trails are not wheelchair accessible. The footpath along the park perimeter is accessible by wheelchair users. Pets, cycling, fishing and mass gatherings are prohibited in the park.
There is no lighting at night, so plan to leave by 7pm. The park is open 24 hours, but the night-time lighting limitation makes daytime visits the practical choice.
What to check before you go
Check the NParks site before you go for current visitor guidance, and use its park guide map to choose an entrance and locate facilities. If you are coming on foot from Tampines MRT station, factor in the walk from the station to the route’s start point.
